A TWO PIECE SWIMWEAR-BIKINI
Bikini or a Two-piece suit is one of the most popular swimwear available in the world today. A swimwear is a costume meant to be worn while engaging in water sports and sun bathing. One part of this swimwear covers the bust and the other covers the groin and the buttocks (optional) and leaves an uncovered area of the belly and the waist. Usually worn during the hot weather, it is a perfect option for swimming or sun bathing. Besides this, it is also worn as an undergarment to the wetsuit for activities like scuba diving, wakeboarding, waterskiing and surfing. The shape of a Bikini resembles women’s underwear and the lower part can vary from a g-string to a revealing thong to cut-shorts to briefs. Modern Bikini was invented by a French engineer ‘Louis Reard ‘in 1946. The original Bikini was made only from a mere 30 square inches of fabric. It was named after Bikini atoll, a site of the Operations Crossroad nuclear weapon tests in the same year as it was said to have an explosive effect on the onlooker.
It is the most renowned female beachwear round the globe. Only a couple of years after its invention in the 1946, fashion designers across the world came with plethora of variations with the original style. However most of these creations did not go well with the people. Initially this particular swimming costume was rejected in many countries and was even banned at the Miss World Pageant, 1955 as it was believed to provide undue advantage to the contestants wearing it over the modest ones. However, it gained back its popularity after some years.
The Bikini sales dived tremendously during the late 1980′s and early 1990′s as One Piece swimwear gained massive popularity. Due to this, the original Bikini inventor Louise Reard’s company had to close down with sales plummeting to a mere 30%.
A few years later the Bikini trend was back with a bang and went on to become the official beach volleyball uniform for women in 1993.
Bikini today is very famous beachwear which accentuates the curves of a woman making her look very attractive and adding to her sex appeal. It is now available in a wide range of designs, colors and patterns. It is also available in different types of fabrics; the most preferred being the water-proof one. The Bikini is one of the most admired costumes today which makes a woman look fashionable while providing comfort from the within. This helps a woman carry herself beautifully and she seems much more confident.
However, you should be extra careful while choosing a Bikini for yourself as a wrong choice can badly affect your personality. For instance, if you are plump then you shouldn’t go for a very revealing one. Similarly, if you are thin then you must try halter necks and g-strings that will make you look fuller.
So if you are a beach lover and enjoy being in water or sun bathing then a Bikini is a must have for your wardrobe.
