Choose the Right Swimwear
If you think that you have a combination of problem areas i.e. not just a big bum but a small bust, then take this advices. The right swimsuit can literally take a dress size off you but beware, the wrong one can also add pounds so it really is worth taking the time to consider your body shape and shop around.
Big Stomachs
If you are trying to disguise a large tum, then stick to colours and patterns with a dark base or if you are wearing a two-piece then stay light on the top and stick to dark on the bottom. Bold prints or florals can distract the eye away from your problem area. Always avoid horizontal stripes as these will add inches.
A ruched suit will look great if the ruching is on the stomach. As another option you could try distracting attention away from your problem area and making a feature of your bust. Try wearing detail on the bust to draw the eye upwards. A tankini is good option but make sure the top half doesn’t finish halfway up the stomach as this is not flattering.
Big Bum
Stick to slimming dark colours when choosing a swimsuit. Large prints can also help make your rear look smaller
A high cut leg is the best cut for this shape. Avoid boy shorts as these can make your bum look even bigger!
Wide Hips
Avoid tiny prints and floral patterns and stick to larger ones with a dark colour base as this will help minimize hips. Single block colours are also effective.
As with a larger bum, draw attention from the bits you don’t like to the bits you do- make a feature of your bust by wearing a printed top teamed with a dark bottom half.
Small Hips
Experiment with horizontal stripes as they can help to widen small hips. With this body shape, light colours and small prints are fine.
Boy shorts are great for adding curves and giving the illusion of an hour glass figure. Tie sides are good for adding details to the side of the hips to make them look wider. Cut-out swimsuits are a great fashion-forward way of accentuating small hips.
Big Bust
If you have a larger bust you don’t want to draw too much attention to it so stick to darker colours and if you must wear a print make sure it is a large one. Avoid horizontal stripes; you don’t want anything that will widen the body.
Deep v-necks or a plunge neck will help to elongate your figure and make your bust appear smaller but still look perky. Halter necks are ok as long as they provide enough support and fit well
Avoid bandeau styles and thin straps at all costs as these will only enhance your large bust. Although bandeau style can camouflage your bust if one is bigger then the other. Underwired cups are always great for added support and security.
Small Bust
When it comes to print on your ladies bikini or one piece swimwear you can pretty much do anything as large prints will distract the eye away from a small bust but small prints can also work. Try and find a print that accentuates the shape of your breasts as this will look great.
Ruching detail on the top is perfect for a small bust. This can help to create the illusion of a larger bust. With a small bust you can get away with any style of top from tiny bikinis with triangular tops and bandeaus and still look great. You can also get lots of styles that have padding built in to them to give you a little helping hand in the cleavage department.
